The CRI-IRC has created the Distress Group, that provides assistance to distressed and vulnerable people.
Wherever you are in the world, if you are distressed or feel that you have suffered an injustice, the CRI-IRC may try to assist you.
The CRI-IRC is limited in resources and cannot take every case. It has now created an evaluation committee made up of its members to determine which cases need its assistance in priority.
If you feel that you need assistance please send to DISTRESS@cri-irc.org an email detailing your (this may include a member of your family, a friend or even someone that you know of) predicament or the reason for your distress and providing us with as many details as possible on your situation so that we are able to make a preliminary assessment on how we may be able to assist. If you have suffered any form of physical or psychological violence you may also attach information in the form of photos or videos.
The Distress group is made up primarily of lawyers, human rights specialists and journalists from many countries. It can assist in many areas, but sometimes forces beyond its control prevent an effective action. This is always hard on the Group and where we cannot assist we feel ashamed; not because we did not try hard enough, but because the obstacles the prevent it from acting effectively are put in place by other human beings. So we apologize in advance to those who do not obtain redress and continue to live in distress.
